INTRODUCTION

Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery (CJDS, originally named as the Journal of Digestive Surgery) was established in 2002, and became a member of serial journals of Chinese Medical Association (CMA) in 2007. It is published monthly and distributed both domestically and overseas. The journal is under the administration of China Association of Science and Technology, and sponsored by CMA. It aims at spreading new theories, techniques and experiences of digestive surgery in China and overseas countries so as to act as a bridge for communications between domestic and overseas readers and promote the development of digestive surgery in China. The principle of the journal is to focus on academic development. The content of the journal covers all aspects of digestive surgery, including diagnosing and treating the diseases of esophagus, intestine and stomach, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, blood vessel, and the application of endoscope, interventional therapy, surgical nutrition support as well as other relevant subjects. The main columns of the journal include Guideline and Consensus, Forum for Academician, Forum for Experts, Commentaries, Original Articles, Surgery Today, Image Collections, Abridged Articles, Case Reports, Research Reports of the Elite Group, Experience Exchanges, Clinical Researches, Lectures and Letters from Readers. It has been indexed by 17 retrieval systems including Scopus, American Chemical Abstracts (Network Edition) (CA), British Center for International Agricultural and Biological Sciences (CABI), World Health Organization Western Pacific Medical Index (WPRIM), JSTChina, Chinese Core Periodicals Bullet point Overview (2017 edition), Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD), RCCSE China Core Academic Journal, WANFANG Database, National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), et al. The impact factor of the journal was 2.418 in 2018, ranking the first among all surgical journals in China. The journal is available both in print and online. It had been conferred the title of National First-Class Periodical and et al.

FEATURES 

CJDS covers the whole field of digestive surgery in China. It mainly reports domestic and overseas achievements of clinical and experimental researches in this field.

1. The Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery is the No. 1 journal in the field of surgery in China, maintaining rapid development in the past two decades. And the journal comes out in front among more than 130 journals published by the Chinese Medical Association.

2. The Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery has a close cooperation with academic associations. Most of guidelines and consensuses issued by academic associations are published in the journal.

3. The Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery has invited many experts to interpret guidelines and consensuses issued by international societies and research advances in international meetings.

4. The Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery has a strong team of editorial board. As the Editor-in-chief, Dr. Jiahong Dong has a close international communnication with overseas experts, including Keith Lillemore, the Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Surgery. The editorial board includs Lau Wan Yee, Fan Shangda, Zheng Shusen, Cehn Xiaoping, Chen Zhaolong, and so on.

5. The Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery follows a double-blind review process, and tries its best to fulfill the requirements of ICMJE. The journal attaches importance to ethical issues and conflicts of interest statement, etc.

6. The Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery provides English abstracts for all the articles published in Chinese.

7. The Chinese Journal of Digestive Surgery has consecutively won 3 times of the Third National Journal Award of 100 Key Periodicals organized by the General Administration of Press and Publication of the Peoples' Republic of China.
